" Retired, Promoted, Celebrated: AIG Ikioye Orutugu Marks Birthday with Call for Professionalism in Policing"

 It was a gathering of distinguished personalities, security chiefs, government officials, friends, and well-wishers as newly promoted Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Ikioye Orutugu celebrated his birthday at Beetles Lounge, Awka, in an atmosphere filled with tributes, gratitude, and goodwill.


Speaking during the celebration, AIG Orutugu expressed profound gratitude to God for His mercy, protection, and faithfulness throughout his 35 years of dedicated service in the Nigeria Police Force.


Reflecting on his career, he appreciated the officers and personnel who worked tirelessly alongside him over the years, acknowledging that their commitment and teamwork contributed immensely to the successes recorded during his service.


The senior police officer also commended Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, for the cordial working relationship and collaborative efforts in enhancing security across the state during his tenure as Commissioner of Police.


Addressing serving officers, AIG Orutugu urged members of the Nigeria Police Force to uphold professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties, stressing that public trust can only be sustained through discipline, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.


Among the dignitaries present was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 13, AIG Abayomi Oladipo, who described Orutugu as "a man of dignity and honour." He praised his remarkable contributions to policing and wished him continued good health, divine protection, and greater accomplishments in the years ahead.


Several speakers also paid glowing tributes to the celebrant, describing him as a humble, disciplined, and dependable officer whose legacy of service will continue to inspire younger generations of police personnel.


The Mayor of Awka South Local Government Area, Prince Chinedu Okafor, recalled AIG Orutugu's time in service as one marked by excellence and integrity. He described him as a decent and principled leader, encouraging others to emulate his exemplary character and unwavering commitment to duty while wishing him a joyous birthday and a fulfilling new chapter.


The celebration ended on a joyful note as guests joined the celebrant in commemorating not only another year of life but also a distinguished career built on dedication, honour, and selfless service to the nation.
