"Mass Communication Department Celebrates Rector's 53rd Birthday, Commends Her Exceptional Leadership and AMTY Honour"

The Department of Mass Communication, Federal Polytechnic Oko, joined other staff, students, and well-wishers on Tuesday at the Polytechnic Auditorium to celebrate the 53rd birthday of the Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, while also congratulating her on receiving the prestigious Anambra Man of the Year (AMTY) Public Servant of the Year
The Head of Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Ben Obioha (JP), described the award as a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Awuzie's visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to public education, and remarkable contributions to the growth of Federal Polytechnic Oko.
Dr. Ben Obioha praised the Rector's democratic and inclusive style of administration, noting that her tenure has ushered in peace, institutional stability, academic excellence, infrastructural development, and improved staff welfare. According to him, her transformational leadership has repositioned the Polytechnic as one of Nigeria's leading institutions of higher learning.
The department further stated that under Dr. Chioma Awuzie's leadership, Federal Polytechnic Oko has continued to record outstanding achievements in academics, human capital development, accreditation, innovation, and infrastructure, earning the admiration of staff, students, and stakeholders.
Dr. Ben Obioha, whose leadership in the Department of Mass Communication has been widely commended for promoting academic excellence, discipline, innovation, and professional development, led members of staff and students in celebrating the Rector.
He reaffirmed the department's unwavering support for her administration and wished her greater wisdom, good health, and continued success.
The celebration at the Polytechnic Auditorium was attended by members of the Governing Council, management, principal officers, staff, students, and invited guests, who honoured the Rector for her exemplary leadership and dedicated service to the institution.
