In a landmark move, Federal Polytechnic Oko and Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Awka have embarked on a groundbreaking academic partnership aimed at elevating the quality of education, fostering human capital development, and driving national progress.
The proposal, presented by Federal Polytechnic Oko's Rector, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, during a courtesy visit to UNIZIK's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, outlines key areas for collaboration, including the establishment of a Business School, (link unavailable) affiliation programme, one-year Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) programmes, and an HND-to-BSc conversion pathway.
Dr. Chioma Awuzie emphasized that the partnership aligns with the shared vision of both institutions to expand academic opportunities and enhance professional capacity building, while Prof. Anyaehie welcomed the initiative, describing it as a positive step towards deepening inter-institutional cooperation.
The Vice-Chancellor assured Federal Polytechnic Oko of UNIZIK's support, including the deployment of professors to provide academic supervision, and pledged to consider the proposals once the required standards are met.
The partnership is expected to broaden academic pathways for students and strengthen institutional capacity through shared resources and expertise, ultimately empowering future leaders and driving national progress.
The visiting delegation from Federal Polytechnic Oko included senior officials, who were received by UNIZIK's Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, Dr. Chinenye Gloria Okeke.
