"Oko Poly Rector Warns Against Cultism, Cybercrime in Stark Terms"

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State, Dr. Chioma Awuzie, has issued a stern warning to newly admitted students against involvement in cultism, cybercrime, and other social vices, emphasizing that the institution will not tolerate such activities.
Speaking at the 42nd Matriculation Ceremony, Awuzie advised students to avoid drug abuse, indiscipline, and indecent behavior, stressing that offenders would face sanctions. She congratulated the students on their admission, attributing it to hard work and determination, and urged them to leverage the institution's facilities and opportunities to achieve academic excellence.
Dr. Chioma Awuzie highlighted the Polytechnic's strong reputation for academic excellence, discipline, and innovation, and encouraged students to develop intellectually, practically, and entrepreneurially. She emphasized the importance of adaptability, integrity, and ethical leadership in a rapidly evolving world.
The Rector also commended the institution's progress, including infrastructure development and staff welfare initiatives, assuring stakeholders of management's commitment to providing a conducive learning environment. She noted that staff members who were successful in the 2026 promotion and appraisal exercise have commenced the collection of their promotion letters, and that work is progressing on the Hospitality and Hotel Complex.
Dr. Chioma Awuzie prayed that the students' academic journey would be rewarding, transformative, and memorable, and appreciated parents and guardians for their confidence in the institution. She also commended the Governing Council, Management, Staff, and Students for their dedication and collective efforts in sustaining and advancing the standards of the institution.
